Mission Statement
The Recovery House offers support and structure for men seeking
treatment for alcoholism and drug addiction. Our mission is to
treat alcoholism and drug addiction as a primary disease, rather
than any manifestation of moral consequence, character weakness, or
psychological dysfunction. The Recovery House emphasizes the
importance of treating clients with both dignity and respect while
helping them transition back into society as productive drug-free
individuals. Our treatment approach combines the Recovery Dynamics
12- step philosophy with group therapy, recreation, education,
individual treatment planning and relapse prevention. We are
dedicated in this mission to offering professional excellence,
along with providing a sober living environment that is safe,
supportive and chemical-free.
Recovery House
Ten Broeck Hospital's Recovery House is a licensed non-hospital
based residential chemical dependency program for males 18 years
and older. The Recovery House is a beautifully renovated 3,300
square foot home with six semi-private rooms located on Ten Broeck
Hospital - KMI's 50 acre picturesque campus. The setting is ideal
for clients to continue the road to recovery. Our desire for each
individual who completes our program is simple. We hope those
individuals find recovery through the 12 Steps of Recovery and
become willing to share it with others.
Program
The program is individualized for each resident with an average
length of stay of 30-90 days. The program is administered by
Masters level counselors and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors
who provide a coordinated treatment program consisting of regularly
scheduled sessions within a structured therapeutic milieu. Groups
integrated within the Recovery Dynamics Model focus on goals and
interventions that will effectively stabilize emotional and
behavioral distress while assisting the client in applying the
essential skills necessary to maintain sobriety. Recovery Dynamics
is a method for the counselor to use to present the program that is
described in the textbook of Alcoholics Anonymous. This program
consists of procedures that occur in a precise sequence and are
designed to bring about recovery.
