Ten Broeck Hospital offers a 23 Hour Bed Program that provides
rapid evaluation, crisis intervention, stabilization, and
observation in a safe and supervised environment for children,
adolescents, and adults. This program utilizes a brief stay
approach for treating and diminishing acute behavioral symptoms in
patients who have the potential for successful treatment in a less
restrictive level of care than inpatient hospitalization.
The 23 Hour Bed Program
- A safe milieu with 24 hour skilled nursing care.
- Evaluation and crisis stabilization by an interdisciplinary
team directed by a psychiatrist.
- Crisis intervention services which include individual, marital,
and family psychotherapy as needed.
- Stabilization of crisis permitting the transition of patients
to a less restrictive level of care, i.e., partial hospitalization
or outpatient.
Following evaluation and stabilization in the 23 Hour Bed
Program, an appropriate referral is then made for the patient to
continue treatment in the least restrictive level of care possible.
The level of care recommended is determined by the individual needs
of the patient.
Ten Broeck Hospitals' multi-level delivery of inpatient and
outpatient services allows for the opportunity to address all
aspects of the patients' treatment needs. This multi-level delivery
system provides the patient the unique opportunity to receive the
continuity of care which will enhance a more effective treatment
outcome.
